Why would it be listed with Trade Paperbacks? They really need to narrow their lists and add a couple more.

We'll know the numbers around 6 p.m. EDT this evening.

As Mr. Spice told us, The Rogue Hunter will be #6 on the NY Times Bestseller list. *happy dance*

They finally updated USA Today's this week's top 150 bestsellers (based on sales through Sunday, October 5, 2008) and The Rogue Hunter placed at #21 on that list! *yeah!*

However, something is screwy with the list because either a bunch of numbers aren't showing up or the list is numbered wrong and it might be higher than #21. *shrug* I'll check again tomorrow.

USA Today's list includes both paperback and hardcovers as well as fiction and nonfiction so #21 is fantastic. That ties it with Bite Me If You Can which also hit #21 on that list. Vampire, Interrupted and Vampires are Forever both reached #28 when they were released while The Accidental Vampire reached #77.

If anyone wants to see where I found my information, you can go here:

Congratulations Lynsay!!

Thanks, Kimberly,

21 is absolutely correct for USA Today. This makes it the best performance so far - as you say, matching BMIYC.

Needless to say we're ecstatic here in spice acres.

I think the list goes in the paper on Sunday or something, but they send it ahead of time to the publishers and agents who give it to us which is why we hear it before it's out. It's Tuesday morning to Tuesday night that it covers so it's always Wednesday evening when we get the list. By about dinner time. I think it was six or seven when we got the call. That's why we get it before it goes up.

LOL. The first time I was on, I was checking every bloody day and positive they were mistaken and I wasn't really on because it took so long to be posted.

*grin* I'm sure I would be doing the same thing Lynsay. Just a guess, but how many times did you either open the paper or check online just to confirm that it wasn't a dream and that your name was still there on the list? LOL! I know that would be me. *grin*

Just wanted to update this by saying that The Rogue Hunter is still on USA Today's list of the top 150 bestsellers. It is now at #31 moving down from #21 last week. That is great! To only change by 10 places is terrific news. With how many new books (hardcover and paperback, fiction and nonfiction) are released every week, that is quite an accomplishment.

Way to go, Lynsay!

It's also at a very respectable number 13 on the New York TImes.
