I read it about a week after it was released. I had several books that came out that day and did eeny-meeny-miney-moe to determine the order to read them. I try to pre-order the new books by my favorite authors so that I have them a.s.a.p.! And when I start a new (to me!) series, I order all of the books released to date and read them all in order. This year I've done that for Kerrelyn Sparks' Love at Stake series, Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series and Rachel Vincent's Shifter series. If my finances weren't so tight right now, I'd working my way through one of the next series on my current TBR list (Christine Feehan's Carpathian series, Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underground series, kressley Cole's Immortals After Dark series or Lara Leigh's Breed series), but as money is tight right now, I'm just re-reading one of the many series of books I have on hand. I'm currently finishing up the Pamela Palmer's Feral Warriors series. I'm not sure what will be next. But we'll see!

I really enjoyed it. Let me know when you've gotten the chance to read it. I want to hear your opinion.

Sue I have read all 21 of Christine Feehan's Carpathian series. And that was in the first couple of week of July. Along with her Drake Sister series.. After I got past the first one it was easy peasy reading,

Thanks, sin! I hadn't really decided which series I would purchase next. I've heard a lot about the Carpathian series, but I was kind of nervous about the size of the series. But since you were the first to speak up about it, when I get funds again, I will start getting those books!

Lindithium, I did finish Pale Demon. I liked it. But I still can't see Rachel settling down with either Trent OR Ivy. I think I may do a re-read of it next, though, to remember more details. One thing I really did like was the way Kim held true to her world building and had the world outside the cities reflect the effects of the Turn.

Dark Prince the first in the series took almost 2 weeks for me to get into it. I actually got it in a pdf and read it on my computer. Then while house sitting at dd's read most of the rest of the series in 1 week. Her Drake sisters series has 7 books. THAT one I enjoyed a lot more. (thanks to middle sister wren for recommending it to me)

Jewelz told me about Christine Feehan's 'Drake Sisters' series. 8-) It is a 7 book series, Sue, and you have Jewelz, sin, & me recommending starting with it first. Christine has released the first book that is the beginning of a spin-off series in which several of the Drake Sisters' characters appear.

Dark Prince does take time to get through, even for those who usually read quickly. It moves slowly to establish the Carpathians foundation, but the series picks up quickly over the next few books. You will find that you have specific faves in the 'Dark' series, while other books in the series will seem to plod along. It is one of those series best read in order to get the most out of it overall, as it's easy to lose track of or not understand the sheer number of characters and all of the Carpathian language and traditions! :)

Okay, sis, you've convinced me. I'll put that series on my list and start with it when my funds loosen up some. Thanks!

Book 1 of the new series is Water Bound (A Sea Haven Novel)

Remember, Sea Haven is the town near where the Drake Sisters live. :)

You'll be glad you did. It took Jewelz awhile to convince me, as I had never been that interested in reading them, but once I did, I could see what a range Christine has as an author. I still enjoy the 'Dark' series, although it's not part of my Keeper Collection, but I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in the spin-off of the 'Drake Sisters' series. There is also a stand-alone book, Lair Of The Lion, unrelated to either series, that is very good. I haven't yet read any of her Leopard series or GhostWalkers series books, and I've only read a couple of anthologies that have her stories.

I'm sorry Susan I thought you were saying you hadn't gotten Pale Demon yet. I don't see Rachel ending up with Ivy, but I am not surprised that it could be Trent. I was wondering when she was gonna do that.
