English As A Second Language

English As A Second Language

Postby Mr Spice on August 2nd, 2009, 1:53 pm

As requested by Wren, here is the start of a thread to discuss the peculiarities of the English language as it is spoken around the world.

So, according to both Australian slang and British West Midlands dialect, the larrikins begin here.
"A heavy snowfall,
They are just about to close
The great gate of the barrier"

You've been in the south for awhile, big sis...I had to start somewhere, so I started with one of Daddy's fave sayings...then added a bit of Gypsy's to it since they are here! LOL So...are you translating ;) or are you waiting on Mr Spice and our British, Canadian, and Australian friends and others who speak English as a second language and want to have some fun with it to give it a try?

LOL That SO sounds like something Dr.Phil would say!! 'If there is someone out there who thinks that os OK then somewhere a village is missing it's idiot'!!

A larrikin is someone (like me!!) who is a bit of a prankster or clown! So there is a bit of a 'larrikan' in all of us!!
