The Loving Daylights

Okay so... I know it's not an "anthology" and it definitely doesn't fall under the Argeneau series nor the "historical romance" books... however, it is still one of Lynsay Sands works. One I just read for the first time and was laughing all the way through. At first... I was hesitant because I've strictly been reading her Argeneau series and nothing else but was in the mood for something with a great plot line, romance and the funny moments that she is so known for. So, I was standing in front of my bookcase yesterday looking over her books I had found and purchased from various bookstores but have yet to read. I figured, it's like a spy book... I've never read one of those and it sounds good so, why not? Let me assure you one thing that if you haven't read it yet you're missing out greatly.

This has opened my mind to more of her creations and I'll likely be diving into the few historical romances of hers that I have. Things that I will have on my list to get next, more of her work.

Now here's the spoiling bit so don't read beyond if you haven't read the book.

Was anyone else thinking "poor guy" most of the time until about the 2/3 point of the book? Just all the things going on with Abel? Especially the whole shrinky-dink scenario? I was cringing and I'm female. Just, ow man. He was being thoughtful... but guess now he's learned probably not to touch her stuff unless he knows exactly what the thing does. Lesson learned, probably effectively too.

Also, I would so have loved to see another book for that "series"... it was only one book, but could've possibly had more. Granted, it has been at least since 2003 according to the publication of the book I have and it's unlikely a new one would be made. Regardless, I'll undoubtedly read the book again some time later.

Those who have read it what'd you think about the book?

Wonderland,

Believe me you will not be disappointed with Lynsay's, as we call them, Hysterical Historicals! Some of them are short series and some are one-offs. Any of the one-offs are great.

If you have the series, they stand alone, but reading them in order is better IMHO. If you want some suggestions, feel free to ask!

Wonderland,

The Loving Daylights was recently re-released, I saw it and said "why not, can never go wrong with one of Lynsay's".

I enjoyed it immensely. Would definitely recommend it.

*** Spoiler Alert ***

And, yeah, ow, poor Abel. When he said he had just grabbed one from her bag, I was oh no, oh no....yikes!
