Website field in User Profiles

Just wanted to let you know that I've updated the script so websites can no longer be added to your profile. It was creating a lot of extra work for me (it's what kept me busy most of this morning) as a lot of spammers like to throw in sales, fishing or worse links in their profile as it's the only active link available to them to enter. Otherwise I can control it as their posts have to be approved.

If anyone has an issue with this then please let me know and I'll discuss it with you. This is a community and we are always available for discussions on changes to our forum.

It's a darn shame that that was necessary. I enjoy links and my website was on my profile. I never considered this forum to be a marketing opportunity, I just liked the idea that the members here were one click away from being able to enjoy my pictures.

I don't blame you Terri for having to do what you had to do. It's just too bad that spammers had to come along and ruin it for the rest of us.

Okay now I'm a bit confused. Is my mind playing tricks on me or did the website links on our profiles not disappear after this post. I could've sworn they were gone yet they seem to be back. Did you reconsider,Terri, did the change just not stick. I certainly hope that my carping in the previous post had nothing to do with their coming back because, if it saves you a lot of work, I would rather that they just stayed gone.

It's only for new people. Anyone new signing up will not be able to put up a link. I could play with the code to allow it put it would take time as my php is a little rusty and there are quite a few linked files and arrays but we'll see. So those of you that already posted a website are safe. It's just newbies that will have an issue.
