Lucern

Talk about the Argeneau family members and what makes them so real.

Lucern

I've decided to re-read the whole Argeneau series this summer, and now I'm on SWV, but really... how do you pronounce Lucern? Is it with a hard c or with a soft c, so it sounds like Luce-earn? I've been pronouncing it with a hard c, so it sounds like Luke-earn, and Luc, like Luke. But I don't know! What's the consensus?!

Lucern is soft 'c' so it' sounds like 'loose - urn'

But 'Luke' is also correct for Luc, Perhaps with a slight suggestion of French on the letter 'u'.

Hi and welcome! Yes, pronunciations come up often for many of us...I think I'll start a thread topic to help with this. :D

On the old forum which we had before May of this year, this question had come up. Lucern is pronounced with the soft /c/ sounding like an /s/, so it is pronounced like Lu-cern or "Lu-cearn" with a very soft accent on the first syllable. However, Luc is pronounced just like Luke! I know, doesn't sound like it makes sense, but those are the correct ways to say his names. Btw, Lucern's name and nickname both mean "light." Also, Lucian, and Lucianna/Lucy, two other Argeneau characters, have the same name meaning! Hope this helps!! 8-)

One of my favorite parts of Lucern's story was when he was in the supermatket and he kept thinking abouting bitting the other shoppers, lol, it was so funny like he was on a diet and could not stop thinking about what he was not allowed to have.
