I'm sorry Wren, but Elvi was not turned by Victor. She was turned by the immortal in Mexico.

Absolutely correct - although I can't find the original post to which this refers ... Somebody help me, please.

Gotcha, thanks Lisa.

Mary, I think what Wren meant was that Victor could have turned Elvi if he had needed to because he had never previously turned anyone. This would have allowed him to make the turn under Council rules. As it turned out he didn't need to turn her because she had already been turned by the mysterious unknown vampire in Mexico.

Well done, Mary! :) I didn't catch it, and didn't realize I wasn't making myself clear. I believe that Victor still has his one turn if Marion was born immortal! You are correct that Elvi was turned in Mexico by the unknown immortal, so he didn't need to use his turn when he discovered they were life mates. The reason I think Marion, his first life mate, was born immortal is because there seems to be a link between sires & turns due to the nanos...

SPOILER ALERT ~ VI

this comes from what Marguerite said about how she knew when Jean Claude actually died
in Vampire, Interrupted. Victor would have felt Marion burning at the stake if he had sired her.

Hmmm...seems like I need to do some of my favourite re-reading again!
