Personally I prefer covers with a face like the ones for TIH, BTB and TRV. For some reason, a picture of a buff male torso just doesn't do a thing for me.
I kind of deplore the lack of creativity in cover designs in general. It seems, in the romance genre, there are only three kinds of covers: a male model, female model, or the two of them getting real friendly like. I've noticed that, in a lot of genres, the cover designs have become less and less creative with the passage of time. In the science fiction and fantasy genres, you can't do better than a painting by Darrell K. Sweet, cover artist extraordinaire, I've bought books because of his cover art. I think publishers sometimes underestimate the value of a great cover.
I guess the important thing is not what's on the cover but what's inside it.
