This thread is for comments and speculation on the next book in the series, About a Vampire. This is your warning that spoilers will abound! I can't wait to see how Justin likes being on the receiving end of the teasing about finding his lifemate! I'll be back here after I've read the book! See you then! :ugeek: :D

I agree with Wren! The book is great! I started about 4:00 and finished about 2:00 a.m.! I would have been done sooner but I couldn't read straight through like normal! I'm not commenting more yet. I want to do a second read-through to catch any details I may have missed in my first, quick time through. I'll be back!!!

Have to do a second listen through, but loved the first one and almost cried for poor Bricker! But i do believe he received some payback, poor guy.

OMG THE BOOK WAS AMAZING!
I have a serious question and thought. I think that Rosmund is Bricker's sister.. because of the lullaby that Bricker was singing.. I really think that Bricker's Mom " Militad "Mattie" Bricker is Rosmunds Mom...

Loved the book! Need to reread it again before I comment further. I don't think Bricker and Rosamund are related, though. I'm pretty sure Lynsay would have mentioned it in this book if they were.

Wow! Loved to see the family again, the Enforcers got their revenge, (and made their life mates mad) and Bricker found his life mate and introduced his family and some family history. Really great book! Really wanted to yell "plot twist" toward the end! It was after midnight, so I just giggled, sighed and enjoyed the story! Great work Lynsay! When did you say next book is out? About Dante or Tommosso? Will we ever see Christian's cousin /band mates again? How about GG? ( from vampire interrupted?). How is Alexander? Has Sherry meet all of Basileios children yet? So many qu stions

So I finally finished it. Generally, because of the way my life works, it takes me a week to get to these books when they come out. I feel like everyone’s already said their peace and I’ve missed the party. Oh well, here are some of my thoughts if any stragglers happen by.

 Overall, I really loved the book. I love every new journey back into the Argeneau universe. I must admit, though, to being a bit conflicted. For them to have a happy ending, which I knew they were going to have, a marriage would to have to go down the tubes somehow. The ethical dilemma connected with Bricker’s situation really made this, at times, a difficult read for me.

 There were so many times, in this book, when I wanted to slug Bricker or, at least, shake him until his teeth rattled. “Stop talking about this like it’s a legal issue. It’s a moral one! You don’t refrain from breaking up marriages because it’s against the law, you refrain from it because it’s a awful thing to do and you’re better than that. Stop whining and try to be a tiny bit more heroic please.” I kept feeling like everyone else around him was trying to make him feel better while waiting for him to have that epiphany. It felt like if someone had said, “Cheer up, old boy. Perhaps her husband will catch a fatal disease and die horribly and you can claim your life mate,” he actually would’ve been cheered by that thought. I really wanted to shake him when he said he shouldn’t have turned her. He’d already gotten to know her. Could he really regret saving her life at that point? Really? He seemed to come to his senses a bit by the end but Lynsay definitely got under my skin with this one. I was happy for him by the end, but I’m still not completely over wanting to slug him.

 I like Holly a lot. She’s loyal and she has integrity. Those are priceless qualities in anyone. It speaks well of Bricker that the nanos would choose her as his life mate. I can even forgive the fact that she doesn’t like nature shows or the great outdoors in general. We all have our preferences.

 Another thing I found interesting about Holly. She grew up travelling around the world with archaeologist parents. At long last she found her ticket out of that dull world and into the exciting world of accounting! If you sensed any snark in that, please be reassured that I’m not judging. My sister majored in commerce and I’m sure that she didn’t find it boring at all.

 I was really pleased to have another story where someone gets turned early in the book and gets to experience learning to be an immortal throughout. I enjoy those and felt almost like Lynsay wrote it just for me. ;) Thanks Lynsay. :D

 I like to think that Lucian and the others made things difficult for Bricker not just because he gave them a hard time when they found their life mates, but, also, because there’s something just wrong about rooting for someone else’s marriage to fail. If Anders and Decker had done what they did under any other circumstances than I think I’d like to slug them too. I’m honestly not that violent a person!

 Early on, I wondered about how Bricker was going to get out of this one and get his happy ending. James, as it turned out, wasn’t a horrible piece of work and wasn’t plotting to kill Holly or even cheating on her, so that wasn’t going to do it. In fact, James seemed like such an alright guy that I wondered early on if he might somehow turn out to be someone else’s life mate; like perhaps Gia’s. Okay, that was a lucky guess, since the only other way out, I could think of, was to kill him off.

 So Bricker just went ahead and bought himself a house in Toronto? For such a young immortal he must have quite a nest egg. Either that or being an enforcer really pays well.

 There wasn’t a lot of action in this one, just a huge ethical dilemma. That was enough to keep me at the edge of my proverbial seat.

Another good one, Lynsay. I’m looking forward to the next one. That one looks like it’ll have enough action for two books. So it’s Dante’s story next. This is going to be hard on Tomosso. It’s always been “Dante and Tomasso.” After this, it’ll just be “and Tomasso.”

Yeah, I figured it might go like that.

Him being all angsty about being alone but too noble to complain about his twin's good fortune could add some flavor to his story.
