The Deed, The Key, The Chase

Postby Denise on December 29th, 2008, 11:53 pm

I finished The Chase today while the kids were playing on their DSs. I really liked these three! It makes me look forward to the new medieval books that much more! And, as I mentioned in the Rolfe thread, I'm sad that we can't read his story. Even though all three books were great and I loved them, the trilogy just doesn't feel complete without Rolfe and Helen's story to make it a quartet (what's the word for a series of 4 books?) But now I have the problem that I've read ALL of Lynsays books! No more new ones for a few weeks! Oh well, I was in the middle of a re-read of the Argeneaus. I guess I can get back to that, now.

I finished these three books a couple of weeks ago. I absolutely LOVE Duncan! I love Blake and Seonaid! I can sympathize with Blake and the ticklish feet! But, while I loved the story in The Deed, I'm not thrilled with Amoury. He's lucky he ended up with a very naive wife in Emmalene. I'm hoping that since Lynsay now has the rights to these characters again that she will finish up the story of Rolfe and Lady Helen. That story line was really left hanging. Did they make it to England? What happened with the Camerons? Did Rolfe and Helen end up together? So many questions! Plus, it would give us all a chance to catch up with the rest of these characters!

I may write Helen and Rolfe's story. Have to ask my editor if it's okay. I always planned to back then, but as I say, I sold to Avon and couldn't touch these stories. Now I can though, so long as my editor doesn't freak at the idea. We'll see.
