I know I'm late to the party, but I just finished it this morning! Loved it! I loved how Robert knew how the girls would react and let Richard and Daniel keep stepping into trouble, just to see their reactions. I can't wait to read Suzette's book. I've got it sitting here and it's calling my name......

You'll love The Heiress, too...it's like reading the whole story from the other side!

I know I'm a bit late, but whenever I read "The Countess" (and I've re-read it a couple of times by now) I keep thinking it would make an awesome play - the twists and turns have something quite "Shakespearean". Just think of "Much Ado About Nothing" paired with "Twelfth Night" xD and this meeting the flair of a Jane Austen adaptation <3

I honestly "feel" how some scenes could be staged - almost a pity it will never be realized...

Anyways, I enjoyed all of Lynsay's books so far, but "The Countess" was my first historical and still is one of my favourites :)
Books are like vampires.
They wait in the shelves for their victims - someone who reaches for them, is hooked reading and then their ghostly life begins:
In a highly sensual way, they suck the lifetime of the curious!

NessaRose, All of her historicals are good. They all have the same humor and good character development that Lynsay is famous for! Try them all!

Nessa, ditto what Susan said. Lynsay's historicals are superb! Lucky you to be just getting in to them and so much fun reading ahead of you.
