Tell Us About Yourself

Dawnfire,

Sorry for the delay in your post being seen here by the rest of us. Unfortunately, due to spammers posts from new members have to approved by the powers that be before they are seen. The powers that be are Lynsay and her sister/assistant Terri. Unfortunately, you managed to log in during a time when they were both unavailable to get on the boards and approve legitimate posts. You can tell that you are a new member because your id appears in a bright lime green color. After you post approximately 20 times, your name will change to navy blue. Once you are "turned" and that happens, your posts will appear immediately.

Please don't let the delay dissuade you from joining what we like to refer to as the Best Forum on the Internet! Please take a few minutes and answer the Getting to Know You questions and Quirky questions. It's not a requirement, but it helps everyone find out a little bit about you. Plus, you can go back and check out how all of us regulars answered!

So, until you've been turned, bear with the delays and enjoy our little family.

True or False

Postby KateT1988 on March 2nd, 2012, 1:55 pm

This will be fun... You post something and then the next person answers true or false and puts a new statement in. A fun way to get to know each other

Let me start...

The next person has a son.

Actually, Kate, we do have one of those going on the "Quizzes, Games and Fun Stuff" forum. It's called "True or False" if you want to join the fun, there.

Welcome to the group and glad to see you joining in! So, tell us about yourself, as much as you are comfortable sharing, that is.

Denise is correct in that you want to go to the "Quizzes, Games and Fun Stuff" section for this game. However, the "True or False game" is based on the Argeneau books, not the getting to know each other. The game Denise is thinking of is "The Person Below Me"...it works just as you described, Kate. I took the liberty of moving your post to that game, and answered it, since I have two sons, then gave the next TPBM. Welcome to our fantastic forum! We are glad you are here! For the rules to all the games, just check the original post...then jump in and have fun! 8-)

That's okay...I knew which game you were talking about & it was an easy mistake. Just wanted our newbie friend to be able to find it! :)

Hiya! My name is Lindsey but people call me either Kitty or Renee (I meow sometimes when I hear someone call my name, thus my nickname.) Others teasingly call me Mouse, because of my high pitched hiccups which happen every day. (I squeak) and how small I am. (4'11)

Opps..sorry about the overboard explination. I tend to do that. But here, I love reading and began to follow Lyndsy's books when I randomly found a used copy of "Single White Vampire" at a small local used book store called Mrs. B's. It was shiny and was at the top of a bookshelf that held books that..were kinda on sell more than orginaly. I pulled it down and read the back. Instant love. I bought it immediatly and read it. Loving every single second. So when I found out there were more I went and got em. It wasn't until much later that I found out that I had actualy read one of her books already before this and had loved her writing then. It was the book called "The Brat." I had gotten it from my grandmother and loved it as much as I loved the Argenaeu series. This was probably about..3 years ago or so. Perhaps more.

So theres my fan story and a tiny bit about me. Got questions? Feel free to ask. I love talking ^_^

Well Kittygirl, Welcome. In this forum, you don't ever have to apologize for talking too much. I have been known to leave a paragraph or two about some subjects. And there are several others, both male and female (ahem, wren and Thomas, <giggle>) who can expound on a given subject for many screens.

Your name is not unusual here, so there may be a little confusion about you, at first. The aforementioned wren is named Renee IRL. We also have a MsKitty who visits frequently from Australia. And, of course, there's always our wonderful hostess, Lynsay!

Unfortunately, due to spammers, new members have to wait for their posts to be approved by the powers that be, namely Lynsay or her sister/assistant, Terri! You can tell when you've achieved the status of immortal by the color of your name. When your name changes from lime-green to dark blue, you've been "turned" and your posts will be automatic.

You said that you love to talk, so I suggest you go to the Getting to Know you section and answer the questions in the Getting to Know You thread and the Quirky Questions thread. It's not a requirement, but it helps us all get to know each other better. You can even go back and check out the answers that us "older" members gave.

Most of the members here have only read the Argeneau books, but quite a few of us have read the historicals as well. Feel free to check out all of the threads and comment whenever you find something interesting! I have to admit that I loved "The Brat" too! But, then again, all of Lynsay's books have her trademark brand of humor that keeps us coming back for more.

By the way, we are a pretty loose bunch of people here, so there really are only a few rules. The main rule is that there can be no Fan Fiction! We all love to speculate about what may be coming next, but we confine that type of talk to specific threads. This is for legal reasons. We are fortunate that Lynsay comes and visits here often, but she isn't able to do that if there is Fan Fiction scattered throughout the forum. It has something to do with the fact that her writing has to be her own original ideas and she can't use our ideas. I'm not sure if I got all that correct, but it's better to be safe than sorry, so we just don't do it here.

Other than that, the only other thing that is required is that you be kind and polite and treat people with respect.

So, once again, Welcome! I hope to see more of you here on the boards.

Kittygirl welcome and in addition to what wren & Sue have posted please join Lynsay's newsletter. It is published at the end/begining of the month. In it at times we have contests, puzzles and if we are lucky a tidbit or two of an upcoming story in the works. Sit back have a cuppa and join in at anytime. When a new book is about to be released (about a week prior) we have a "SPOILER" thread made. As always it states that if you have not read the book do not read the spoiler topic if you do not want to know what happened. Under the characters we have topics of them where we also speculate. If you are uncertain if a topic exists, please use our search function.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome! Its been hard for me to find fellow book readers lately so this is like heaven in its own form. ^_^ And sooooo nice finding similair minded people! I know I'm gonna enjoy taking part in some of the games and discussions, though I probably won't join in on the speculations or spoilers. I like being completley surprised while reading. It makes it more fun. So I will see ya'll around on here!! *Wave*
