Don't know if this one will make it up... because I don't know how active everyone is but this has been bugging me for years because no one ever says anything about it in the books and may just be me but I would think it'd be natural to wonder but... here goes nothing.

My question; What about the monthly visit from dear Aunt Flow? Does every Immortal woman still have them?
Okay so technically this appears as two questions but it's really still only one as it's the very same concept.

Reason I ask, please don't fire shots at me because it's just something I was curious and confused about.

Immortal women are still capable of getting pregnant and all that... so I was curious if they'd still have a period or if the nanos would prevent it because there would be a loss in blood... okay, weird question... sorry for asking but it's just been wracking my brain. Naturally I would think the nanos would want to prevent it because then the Immortal woman would need to intake of more blood in order to get around it... and since it's a natural occurrence it made me think maybe the nanos would bypass it because it is normal. I'm thinking too much... please ignore the odd question.

Hi WonderlandBeat! All questions are welcome & yours was worded tactfully, so please don't be embarrassed.

The nanos are programmed to keep the human body at peak condition. Since menstruation is a normal biological function, it is unlikely the nanos would do anything other than require a little more blood during an Immortal woman's monthly flow, which Immortal women would learn to adjust for once their monthly cycles began. The nanos would repair any underlying associated health issues causing the typical symptoms of discomfort or pain or cure most illnesses related to the female reproductive system as part of keeping the woman's body in peak health condition. They would not necessarily correct a condition such as infertility or any condition they didn't deem a threat to the body, based on the fact that they do not correct genetic anomalies that do not interfere with an Immortal obtaining blood needed to sustain the human body in peak condition, and that the nanos see a pregnancy as a possible parasite or foreign object in the body, which is ironic since the nanos themselves are benign but mostly beneficial parasites themselves. That is one of the reasons extra blood intake is needed to conceive & then sustain a pregnancy. The nanos only do what they were originally programmed to do other than disintegrating, due to the scientists of Atlantis miscalculating daily damage to the human body. The nanos cure illness & repair damage, causing the Immortal human bodies to evolve & adapt so that the nanos can keep the Immortals in peak condition, and they are only concerned with the host body. Anything that doesn't interfere with that task is ignored as nonessential, while anything that interferes is repaired or eliminated from the body by the nanos. Hope this helps answer your question! :) (Info based on ABTR, BMIYC, TAV, VAF, VI)

Lynsay, will you add to or correct the info please? Thanks! ~ wren
