Christmas Mish-Mash

I have absolutely NO IDEA what we're going to do for the kids for Christmas, this year. Even they are having trouble coming up with wish lists! Anyone else having that trouble?

I have the opposite problem. My son is going thru an I WANT phase. Anything and everything he sees, especially if It has spomething to do with trains. I Got so tired of hearing the I wants that I told him that if he didn't stop I would buy everything he said he wanted and Donate it to Toys for Tots...

Our kids are getting older and their wants are slowing down.

Luckely we do not have that problem:D We do not give presents with X-mas.

On the 5th of December is we have a childrens holiday named "Sinterklaas" and we give presents then. Mostly just small presents and candy.

I am from Rotterdam:D We celebrate it on the eve of the 5th because we tell kids that sinterklaas is to busy on the 6th celebrating his birthday:D

We put our shoes bij the frontdoor and then they have to sing a sinterklaas song and in the morning they hope to find some candy or a small toy (if their good) in their shoes:D

I love this tradition:D

Well, one good thing about the lack of Christmas ideas is that we spent about 1/3 the amount of money this year as previous years. And still had a great Christmas. Everyone got something the wanted and a few odds and ends.

Hope all of you had a great holiday season, whichever holiday you celebrate. I'm waaaay behind on the board and trying to catch up this evening.
