The twins were such a riot in this book. From the Pinnochio references to their way in aiding Stephano in telling Nicole about them. I hope to see more of them in the near future, maybe a book of their own.

I absolutely loved the fact that Kate now isn't the only one to have brought down an assailant.
Starting to think that pillows can be very useful when you are really in a tight pinch.

You know Wonderland, I had forgotten that Kate also used a pillow to bring down an attacker. Lucern and Jake should start a club for immortals saved by pillows! LOL!

Loved the book! I was totally surprised on the attacker! Also loved more complete sentences from the twins! I have heard there are lots of twins that finish each other's sentences! Imagine how much more in synch hundred year old twins would be on agreement of thoughts, or at least understanding quickly with a one word reference? Hope to see much more of the family in future books!

Piros wrote:I haven't finished the book yet, but Nicole's life-timeline is bothering me to distraction.

1) Stephano was turned in 2006 (according to another thread's timeline)

2) This book is 7 years later (2013)

3) Nicole has known Marguerite 10 years (2003)

4) Nicole makes a number of comments about Jean-Claude's treatment of Marguerite. (Died in a house fire in 1995?)

Am I missing something?

No, I don't think you're missing anything. In fact, I never really even thought about what you've brought up (which is why this forum is the best!). The only thing I can think of is that the stories of Jean Claude's abusive behavior are so well-known amongst the family, that I would assume that Maria and Vittorio (Nicole's aunt and uncle), who actually were there when JC was alive, would have been witness to the mistreatment and, as the help do, talked about it amongst themselves. That is probably how Nicole picked up on the abuse.

Enjoy the rest of the book!

Plus, Nicole's best friend (Maria's daughter) would have filled her in on the family background. I hadn't caught the timeline oddity, either. Good eye, Piros.
