Lynsay's Note - view online

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and spring is in full swing here in Southern Ontario... and of course with the warmer weather comes the spring-cleaning! I've been doing a LOT of it lately, from my office all the way down to the garage, and I'm amazed at how much junk we've acquired over the year. This is also the ritual I go through before I start a big book deadline... I get rid of all the garbage that's crowding my desk, my office and my living space. I find doing this also clears my mind of all the useless details and stressful non-information I've accumulated over the last few months. A sort of meditation via cleaning house...well, I always was a multitasker. ;-)

Here's a pic of our clean, organized garage. I'm showing this with pride because I can finally park my SUV in the garage again! LOL

One way or another we need to clean those personal spaces, both physically and mentally, otherwise it's just a minefield of stuff we constantly have to maneuver around and keep tripping over.

My latest news...

Lady Pirate, one of my older historicals, is coming out on June 28th! It's been out of print for a while now and I've had quite a few requests from readers for it in paperback so I'm happy to say it's being reissued this month.

As the title implies, Lady Pirate, is about pirates and who doesn't love a good pirate tale? Tight black pants, blousy tops that billow in the breeze, dashing hats and wickedly sharp swords. Pirates were the bad boys of their day. Everyone knows that good-hearted bad guys can be sexy. So, I had to write a story about one of those good-hearted bad guys, right?

Wrong!

Lady Pirate

My pirate is the heroine, not the hero of this story and her name is Valoree, a.k.a. Captain Red. And Captain Red has earned quite the reputation. Mere whispers of the name "Captain Red" would fill sailors' hearts with fear and make any ship they neared flee for their very lives. By contrast my hero is your conservative Lord-of-the-manor type. But it turns out those Lord-of-the-manor types can be bad too... He'll need to be a little bad if he intends to win over Captain Red and her merry band of pirates hell bent on revenge.

As many of you know, Dante Notte's story, Runaway Vampire, came out in February and since then many readers have been asking after his twin Tomasso and if he'll get a story anytime soon. The answer is Yes! Tomasso's story, Immortal Nights, will be coming out this fall. September 20th to be exact and reviews for book #24 have already started rolling in and it looks like its two thumbs up for this upcoming chapter in the Argeneau series.

Notte Twins

Here are both the twins covers, side by side...Nice view, eh? LOL

There was a contest in last month's newsletter...The answer to the question "When did we first meet Dante and Tomasso?" was A Bite To Remember. The winner of the Runaway Vampire Newsletter contest was Ursula Okerlund.

My upcoming books...

Lady Pirate will be reissued June 28th. And as I mentioned above, this is not your classic tale of a good-hearted bad guy in black pants and a billowy top.  My pirate is the heroine, not the hero of this story. The hero is your conservative Lord-of-the-manor type but it turns out this Lord-of-the-manor can be a little bad too.

Argeneau book #24 called Immortal Nights is Tomasso’s story. It will be released in the third week of September. Even I was surprised by some of the things that happened in his story….it starts off with him naked and caged in the cargo hold of a transport plane, only he’s not alone. Thinking it was a good opportunity for a mini vacation with an old friend, the pilot hides Abigail in the cargo hold only to realize too late that this was not a flight of leisure and that his paying customers were dangerous. Oh...and our stowaway Abigail also happens to be Tomasso’s life mate.

Book #4 of the Highlander series will be now coming out in early 2017 and is titled Falling For The Highlander. This one's about Murine Carmichael who was also one of the ladies that showed up at Castle Sinclair as a potential bride for Cam. You’ll remember her as the one who kept fainting throughout Jo's book, To Marry A Scottish Laird. She also became good friends with Jo and Saidh and revealed her mettle in that story even with her tendency to swoon.

What I'm currently working on...

I'm about to start working on the next paranormal / sci-fi, which will be Argeneau book #26 in the series. And then I'll start the next chapter in my latest Scottish Highlanders series...I'm not done with the Buchanan boys yet!

Happy Spring everyone!

Hugs,
Lynsay

The Argeneau Series...

The Argeneau World . . . there are immortal people living among the mortal population today.  They are descendents of an ancient civilization that was advanced technologically to the point that they began to work with bio-engineered nanos as a medical aid to fight disease as well as repair injuries from inside the body without the need for invasive surgery. These nanos used blood to make repairs and fuel themselves which meant the host needed more blood than a body could supply to support the nanos.

These stories are based mostly around one particular family of immortals, the Argeneaus. However, the Argeneaus are really your typical family. I think everyone would recognize at least one member of their own family among this group. My stories tell how each member finds his life mate despite all the good intentioned interference and harassment of their loving family.

Lady Pirate Reissue on June 28th of Lynsay's classic tale of pirates...

Circumstances had changed; they had gotten worse. Valoree no longer had to masquerade as her murdered brother and scourge the oceans as Captain Red. She no longer had to command his pirate band in a quest to regain his birthright. She had been named heir to Ainsley Castle. But no executor would ever hand over the estate to an unmarried pirate wench and her infamous crew - no matter to whom she'd been born. And the will had distinctly stated that in order to inherit, Valoree must be married to a nobleman... and pregnant.
Upon learning that, the virgin captain had been ready to return to the seas, but her crew had put it to a vote - and for those rascally cusses she would do anything. Reluctantly, she agreed. If they could find a way - Henry and One-Eye and Skully - to put on her a sweet face that would fool the ton, she would handle the rest. Even with a drunken prostitute as an "aunt" and her merry cutthroat crew as "servants". But to herself she swore one thing; she could only marry a man who fired her blood, a man who was not afraid of a... Lady Pirate.

Runaway Vampire Dante Notte is finally getting his story in Argeneau book #23...

Buckle up—the Argeneaus are back in a sexy, witty new novel from New York times bestselling author Lynsay Sands
Dante Notte has heard it said that love hurts. He just wasn't expecting it to run him over in an RV. Still, a punctured lung and broken ribs are nothing compared to the full-body shock he feels whenever he's near the vehicle's driver, Mary Winslow. He needs to keep her safe from their pursuers while he rescues his brother. Most challenging of all, he needs to claim this smart, stubborn woman as his life mate.
The naked, injured, insanely gorgeous younger man who clambered into her RV insists they belong together. If Mary wasn't feeling their incredible connection in every inch of her being, she wouldn't believe it. But now that the men who took Dante's twin are after her too, trusting her gut means risking her life for an immortal who's the very definition of a perfect stranger.

The Highlander Takes A Bride Book #3 in the Scottish Highlander series...
