It's so nice to FINALLY see spring has sprung. I can even see patches of green popping up here and there and the occasional tulip. Unfortunately the yard is pretty bare at the moment as we just had twenty-nine 40 ft ash trees removed because they were dead or dying due to the ash borer infestation. We felt is was best NOT to tempt fate so removed them before they fell down on their own and hurt something or someone. With my luck being the way it's been lately it's almost guaranteed one would have fallen directly on top of me while I was out and about and unaware! Speaking of said luck, this past winter a bunch of ice and snow built up over our newly renovated kitchen and, sure enough, a leak emerged along the main beam of the ceiling over our island. They're coming to fix it this week. What can I's a gift! LOL

The e-book version of Knight Of My Dreams is now out! (The paperback version will be released in a week on May 6th.) This is a reissue of my historical short story called Mother May I, which was first published in the anthology A Mother's Way.

As for what I'm up to... I just completed a couple of Argeneau stories and even started writing the first couple of chapters of the next one. (Phew!) The first one involves Basileios, Katricia's father, and Sherry, a newcomer that has unknowingly been around immortals her entire life. The other is Bricker's story. Yes, I did say Bricker will be getting a story and it will likely come out after Basil's.

And now I'm working on the next two historicals... It's kind of nice being wicked busy because the story ideas are flowing. The only challenge now is trying to get back into the medieval mindset, which is no small feat after writing a couple of Argeneaus! Terri suggested we start speaking Old English around the office, which I thought was a great idea however I haven't heard an "Aye" or "Nay" from her yet! I guess she was just jesting...All I can say to that is :-P !

In the meantime I'm doing what writers do best, reading A LOT and surprise surprise, most of them are medievals.

So in honor of the medieval lying dormant in all of us, which is just waiting to burst through our modern minds, I shall sign off in a very med-EVIL way.

Thou puking ill-breeding ticklebrain! I hope ye ha'e a lousy spring!

Translation: I hope you all have a lovely spring ! <WG>

My yard! I think the only thing missing are the tumbleweeds blowing across it!

Another contest just for medieval in all of us!

We just thought up a fun contest that might interest you. We'd like you to throw us a phrase or two in medieval speak! An insult, a compliment, whatever tickles your fancy as long as it's fun. (But please refrain from using swear words!)

You can email your contest entries to Entries must be in by midnight on May 11th after which we'll pick our favorite phrases and post them on facebook. Then readers can vote on their favorite medieval phrase from the lot. So essentially you get to choose the winners!

Winners get their choice of one of Lynsay's historical novels.

Knight of My Dreams Originally pubbed as Mother May I? in A Mother's Way...

Ahhhh, mothers. I miss mine horribly. Enjoy yours while you can and make sure she knows you appreciate her. Knight Of My Dreams is a historical about how a Mother's loving interference can help, or hinder a romance. In this case, Mom's interference did a lot of good.
Jonathan has successfully evaded his mother's matchmaking schemes for years, only it looks like his luck has run out because the king has given him two weeks to find a bride.  And now when he needs her most, his mother has packed up her match making efforts and left him to his own devices…or has she?
